The number of confirmed cases of monkeypox worldwide has exceeded 50,000! BNCC Monkeypox Virus Nucleic Acid Detection Kit Faces Challenges.

Published:2023-01-16 10:13 Editor:BNCC

Monkeypox is currently breaking out all over the world, and mankind is facing the challenge of a global epidemic. Since May of this year, outbreaks of monkeypox have begun in many places around the world, and have spread from Europe and the United States to many places in Asia. Among them, Hong Kong confirmed the first importation of monkeypox on September 6. Under the new crown epidemic, monkeypox has been killed again, and the world is bound to face the challenge of double epidemic.

Monkeypox is a zoonotic viral disease caused by monkeypox virus infection. The main clinical manifestations are fever, rash, and swollen lymph nodes. At present, there is no universal, safe and rapid serological method for the diagnosis of monkeypox virus infection in the world. The monkeypox virus nucleic acid detection kit independently developed by BNCC designs specific detection primers and probes according to the specific gene sequence of monkeypox virus, and uses qPCR technology for detection. It has high sensitivity, strong specificity, easy operation, and accurate results.

The "Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Monkeypox (2022 Edition)" issued by the National Health and Medical Commission clearly stated that monkeypox virus can be detected in specimens such as rashes, blister fluid, scabs, oropharyngeal or nasopharyngeal secretions using nucleic acid amplification detection methods. nucleic acid. The monkeypox virus pseudovirus standard quality control sample can be used as a measurement standard for the development and performance evaluation of monkeypox virus detection kits.
